It’s a time of great optimism; change is in the air; all around, artists experiment with new technology to produce new sensations, ceaselessly striving to outdo themselves in pressing towards an aesthetic of a bright, exciting future. New frontiers in computing and space travel—these are the threads on which they pull to create joy in the present, a euphoria born of the fever of possibility. Seem familiar? Me neither. So come and revel in the flavours of such a time, at *Dreams from ‘83*: dreams of a bright future, awash in clattering synthetic drums, fuzzy synths and a hyperactive experimental spirit driven by the thrill of new potential. Come boogie to the dreams of the time when dance music and electronic music first fell in love. Expect plenty of Italo-Disco, some chunky slabs of NRG, a sprinkling of camp and plenty of fun stuff to make you boogie.
